Powered by Honda’s renowned 750cc inline four-cylinder engine, the CB750A features the innovative “Hondamatic” automatic transmission, designed to offer smooth and effortless riding without the need for a traditional clutch. The bike is equipped with electric start and also features an emergency kick starter stored under the seat, an unusual and practical feature for the model. Honda CB750A Model History Introduced in the mid-1970s, the CB750A “Hondamatic” was Honda’s attempt to make large-capacity motorcycles more accessible and easier to ride. Using a torque-converter automatic transmission, the CB750A eliminated clutch operation while still retaining the performance and smoothness of the iconic CB750 inline-four engine. Produced in relatively small numbers compared with the standard CB750 models, the Hondamatic versions are now considered rare and highly collectible examples of Honda’s engineering experimentation during the golden age of Japanese motorcycles.
