Description
This is where the legend started. Before the VH 05 series, before the Energy Polarizer controversy, before Peter Brock became a household name outside motorsport, there was the VC Brock. In 1980, Peter Brock and HDT Special Vehicles took the new VC Commodore SL/E, applied their performance and appearance package, and produced 500 cars that changed Australian motoring forever. This is one of them. Build #125, making it an early production example from within the first quarter of the run. Maroon over a correct period interior, the desirable 5.0L V8 matched to a 4-speed manual, and privately owned for the last decade. The seller describes it as factory standard, and the photos back that up. The HDT side stripe package is present and well-adhered, the Peter Brock badging sits correctly on the lower rear quarter, the boot lip spoiler is intact, and the HDT wheels with their distinctive Racing centre caps are all there.
Externally this car presents well. The maroon paint has a deep, consistent gloss across all panels with no obvious fade or panel colour mismatch, and all the major HDT exterior identifiers are in place. Panel gaps are even and the stance is correct. At 171,468 km it has been driven, which is actually a reasonable expectation for a 45-year-old car that was clearly used.
