Description



The LTM 1060/2 is Liebherr's 60-tonne class all terrain mobile crane from the early 2000s generation, built at Liebherr-Werk Ehingen in Germany. It features a 5-section telescopic boom, LICCON computer control system, and 4-axle carrier with 8x8 drive and all-wheel steering. The carrier is powered by a Liebherr 6-cylinder turbo diesel producing 270kW through an automatic transmission. At 48,000kg GVW with 12,000kg per axle, it is road-registerable in Australia. This is a proven workhorse in the hire fleet market and one of the most recognised crane models in the 60T class worldwide.



This unit previously operated with Mirri Cranes and Rigging and Bull Group Australia. It shows 25,474 hours on the carrier (lower) and 19,141 hours on the crane (upper), with 57,389km on the odometer. For a year-2000 crane, that is moderate to high usage, averaging roughly 1,000 carrier hours per year. The machine has been serviced by Liebherr Australia (most recently August 2025 at combined 44,607 hours, 1000hr service) and Hanlon Industries (May 2023 at 25,087 hours). Batteries were replaced in August 2025. The 10-year major inspection was completed in December 2010, and the most recent major inspection under AS2550.1 and AS2550.5 was completed in August 2020, with next due August 2025.



The carrier cab features air conditioning (Wolfle retrofit), camera monitor system, and the original Liebherr dashboard with all instruments operational. The superstructure cab has the LICCON control system with dual joysticks, overhead switch panel, and adjustable operator seat. A cracked windscreen on the carrier cab is noted and will need replacement. The front axle tyres retain reasonable tread depth. The rear axle tyres (axles 3 and 4) show heavy wear and are approaching replacement, with one showing a sidewall cut. Tyre replacement on an LTM 1060 is a significant cost factor. The outriggers, boom sections, and counterweight (5.6T total) all appear in serviceable condition. Engine bay shows typical grime for 25,474 hours but no visible fluid leaks. The operating instructions manual (LTM 1060-2-001, 1,169 pages) is with the machine.



Vendor advises the CraneSafe certificate (VIC171062, last issued 11/10/2022) has expired. The crane will require recertification before use on any Australian worksite. The next major inspection under AS1418 and AS2550 is due August 2025. Buyers should budget accordingly for recertification and any required remediation.
