1991 Mitsuoka Le Seyde
Step into the spotlight with this 1991 Mitsuoka Le Seyde, a striking blend of 1930s American-inspired elegance and dependable Japanese engineering. Hand-built in extremely limited numbers — just 500 units worldwide — the Le Seyde is a true rarity that has become a cult classic among collectors of unusual and eccentric automobiles.
Underneath its flamboyant styling lies the trusted Nissan S13 Silvia platform with a 2.0L SR20 inline-four engine and automatic transmission. This means that despite its exotic appearance, maintenance is simple and cost-effective thanks to the wide availability of Nissan parts.
This example is finished in white and fitted with air conditioning, power windows, a sunroof, tinted glass, and central locking. Inside, it carries an aftermarket Sony head unit, heads-up display, and original floor mats. The vendor notes some minor paint imperfections and wear consistent with age.
The Le Seyde has enjoyed a cult following in Japan since new, but its fame went global when Jeremy Clarkson piloted one on The Grand Tour in the episode “Eurocrash,” taking it on a 1,400-mile road trip across Central Europe. This memorable appearance cemented its place as one of the most distinctive oddball classics ever produced. The car’s name, derived from “Life Second Dream,” embodies Mitsuoka’s philosophy of pursuing insatiable dreams and enjoying freedom through motoring.
