Description / Overview:
The VH Commodore SL/X Wagon with a V8 is a rare thing. Holden built relatively few V8 wagons in the VH run, and one that has been properly engineered, documented and built to this specification is genuinely hard to find. This one has been put together properly: the 355ci engine was built by Galloway Engines with Scat internals, dyno tuned with a 670 carburettor, and is paired with a custom-built aluminium radiator and twin AU thermo fans to keep temperatures honest. The vendor has heaps of receipts backing the build and the car carries Western Australia Department of Transport modification approval for the V8 conversion.
The SL/X specification brings a sportier interior package over base VH wagons, and this example retains its original blue velour trim, correct dash badge, and factory instrument cluster. An aftermarket head unit and gauge set have been added. Externally the body is straight and presents well in silver with a consistent respray across all panels, no visible rust, and all trim intact including the factory roof rack. The stance is noticeably lowered and the wheels have been upgraded. Venetian blinds on the rear windows give it that right period look.
Currently on restricted use registration in WA. Engineering approval documentation present. A substantial file of receipts accompanies the car. This is a serious built wagon for the enthusiast who wants something different in the driveway.
