Description
The first-generation Thunderbird is one of Ford's landmark cars. Low and purposeful, signature fender louvers, the porthole hardtop, chrome wire wheels with wide whitewalls. This 1955 example is finished in deep gloss black and looks the part. The removable hardtop is fitted and in good condition, complete with the characteristic porthole window. Chrome Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels set the stance perfectly. The interior is retrimmed in two-tone black and white pleated vinyl and presents in very good condition. The dash retains the original engine-turned inserts, the Thunderbird winged emblem on the glove box, and factory instrumentation including an "Overdrive Engaged" indicator, confirming the desirable overdrive option. The 292 Y-Block V8 with chrome valve covers and Holley four-barrel carburetor looks right in the bay. Three original 1955 Holley service manuals are included with the car. A modern digital stereo has been fitted for practicality. Sold unregistered with safety certificate.
