1976 Kawasaki Z400
A stylish mid-1970s Japanese classic, this 1976 Kawasaki Z400 is finished in Blue and shows an indicated 20,452 miles. Lightly modified in a café racer style while retaining the majority of its original components, this Z400 offers a great balance of classic character and custom appeal.
Powered by a 400cc parallel twin-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and chain drive, the Z400 is known for its smooth performance, manageable size and reliable engineering. This example reportedly runs well, with a new battery fitted and all electrics functioning as expected.
Kawasaki Z400 Model History
Introduced in the mid-1970s, the Kawasaki Z400 formed part of the brand’s expanding Z-series lineup, bringing the styling and engineering influence of the larger Z models to a lighter and more accessible platform. Known for their sporty performance and reliability, these bikes became popular with both new riders and enthusiasts seeking a nimble machine with classic Kawasaki character. Today the Z400 is increasingly appreciated among collectors of vintage Japanese motorcycles, particularly well-preserved or tastefully modified examples.
