The Mk2 Ford Escort (1975-1980) has a strong following among classic car enthusiasts in Australia and internationally. This example is a genuine barn-find survivor, complete and largely unmolested, with the original Ford keys present and the car appearing structurally solid despite extended storage.
The exterior carries heavy dust and grime from storage, and surface rust is present at the front wheel arch lips, lower sills, and around the rear fuel filler area on the left quarter. Panels are largely straight with no obvious collision damage. Chrome bumpers, grille, and trim are all present. The interior has deteriorated as expected from damp storage, with cracking on the dash top passenger side, worn and stained door cards, and a sagging headlining. The engine is a 1.6-litre four-cylinder unit and the car retains its floor-mounted manual gearbox. The engine number was not sighted. Inspection is recommended and a restoration budget should be factored in.
