The second-generation Thunderbird is the quintessential American personal luxury car, and the 1959 model year sits at the peak of late-1950s styling with its dramatic rear fins, panoramic wraparound rear window, and massive 430 cubic inch MEL Interceptor V8. This is a genuine example with VIN J9YH159517 confirmed on the door jamb data plate, decoding as a 1959 Wixom-built Thunderbird with the 430ci H-code engine, built on July 20, 1959. The Inca Gold and Colonial White two-tone paint scheme is spectacular in person, and the turquoise interior (trim code 5Y) is original-appearing and in exceptional condition throughout.
The interior is the standout feature here. The two-tone turquoise and cream vinyl is in very good to excellent condition, the dash pad is crack-free, the headliner is tight, and all trim pieces are present and correct including the factory push-button radio, the Cruise-O-Matic selector, and the deep-dish Thunderbird steering wheel.
