Description

The 1971 Plymouth Satellite Sebring was the volume seller of Chrysler's B-body lineup that year, shifting over 51,000 units, and it is not hard to see why. These cars carried the same basic platform as the Road Runner and GTX but in a more civil, everyday package. Wide body, long hood, proper two-door hardtop proportions. The B-body is one of the finest chassis Mopar ever built, and this 1971 represents the last of the true muscle car era styling before emissions regulations and insurance costs changed everything.

This example presents well. The deep metallic blue paint shows good depth and consistent reflections across all panels, with no obvious waviness or crude bodywork visible. The car has been dressed up with large billboard-style rear quarter stripes and a satin black hood treatment, giving it a Road Runner visual tribute appearance rather than the standard Sebring look. Buyers should note these graphics are not factory-correct for the Sebring trim level. The chrome grille surround and front bumper present well with good lustre, the correct 1971 three-segment taillights are intact, and the Rallye-style wheels with Dayton SR raised white letter rubber look period-appropriate. The suspension has been rebuilt, which is money well spent on a 50-plus year old car. Interior is a light colour and appears in reasonable shape from what is visible. Comes with owner's manual, service history documentation, car cover and shop manuals, which is a genuine positive for a US import.

The 318 is often dismissed as the base Mopar V8, but that is a bit unfair. It is a tough, reliable unit that will pull a B-body down a highway all day without complaint, and it makes these cars genuinely usable. The indicating mileage of 10,880 is low for any car of this era and would be worth verifying against the service history, but if genuine, this is a time-capsule level odometer reading.
