Description
The Ariel VH500 Red Hunter is one of the most celebrated British singles ever built. Produced from 1932 through to 1959, the Red Hunter earned its reputation on the road and in competition, with the 500cc OHV engine producing around 24 horsepower and a top speed in the region of 140 km/h. By 1950, the VH500 featured Ariel's telescopic front fork and the option of plunger rear suspension, sitting on the signature rigid frame with that beautifully proportioned fuel tank. These are proper, purposeful motorcycles from the golden age of British iron.
This example presents in a deep maroon tank with gold pinstriping and a gloss black frame and mudguards. Chrome on the exhaust system, handlebars, headlamp shell, and wheel rims shows age-appropriate patina but remains largely intact. The solo saddle seat, sprung front forks, and drum brakes front and rear are all in place. The engine displays honest patina with no obvious damage or missing components.
