1966 Chevrolet Impala 4-Door Sedan - Teal Green - 24,359 Miles - 327ci V8, Automatic, Matching Colour Interior

1966 Chevrolet Impala 4-door sedan. Left hand drive. 327ci (5.4 litre) V8 petrol. Automatic transmission. Indicating 24,359 miles. 5 seats. Sold unregistered.

Description

The 1966 Chevrolet Impala was the best-selling car in America for a reason. Big, comfortable, smooth, and available with enough V8 to make the highway disappear. Chevrolet sold over a million full-size cars that year, and the Impala sat at the top of the range with its own trim, badges, and interior appointments. This 4-door sedan carries the 327ci small block V8, which is the sweet spot of the Chevrolet engine lineup for this era. Enough power to cruise all day, reliable, and parts are everywhere.

This example wears a teal green finish that looks right for the period, with matching teal vinyl interior throughout. The paint presents with good gloss and consistent colour across all panels. The body appears straight with even panel gaps and no visible evidence of accident repair. Chrome bumpers, grille, headlight bezels, window surrounds, and body side trim are all in presentable condition with good lustre. The "Impala" script badges sit on the rear quarters, and the front fender carries the "327" and Chevrolet "V" engine badges confirming the drivetrain. Aftermarket multi-spoke chrome wheels have been fitted, giving the car a subtle custom look, though the original steel wheels with hubcaps would have been standard. Tyres are mixed brands with varying tread life.

Inside, the teal vinyl bench seats front and rear are intact with no visible tears. The upholstery shows some age-related wear and minor discolouration but remains solid and usable. The dashboard retains its original clock, AM radio, and heater/AC controls. The steering wheel matches the interior colour. A Queensland Government modification plate on the door jamb (dated October 2013) confirms the car has been in Australia and modified for local compliance. The odometer reads 24,359 miles, and the boot contains two spare tyres on steel rims with whitewalls, a jack, and tools.

Full-size 1966 Chevrolets in 4-door sedan form offer a lot of car for the money compared to their 2-door hardtop and convertible siblings. The 327 V8 with automatic makes it a genuine cruiser, and with parts availability second to none in the classic car world, running costs are manageable. For someone wanting a big, stylish American classic without the price tag of a 2-door, this is a sensible entry point.
