1973 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Stingray Convertible - Blue - GM ZZ502 502ci Crate V8, TH700R4, Trophy-Winning Custom Build

Price Guide: $55,000 - $72,000

1973 C3 Stingray convertible, GM ZZ502 502ci V8 with Holley Sniper fuel injection, rebuilt TH700R4 automatic, custom blue paintwork with ghost flames, powder-coated Intro alloy wheels, Wilwood brakes, LHD, WA registered to September 2026.

Description

The 1973 Corvette Stingray holds a unique place in C3 history. It was the only year that bridged the chrome rear bumper of the earlier cars with the new urethane front end introduced to meet updated safety standards. Only 4,943 convertibles were built in 1973, making this body style genuinely scarce. The original engine number T1022619 is present in the bay, however the car is now running a GM Performance ZZ502 crate motor producing 502 horsepower and 502 ft-lbs of torque, tuned by Mandurah Performance with Holley Sniper fuel injection. This is not a stock restoration; it is a purpose-built high-performance show machine with documented custom work throughout.

The exterior presents in deep custom blue with ghost flame graphics, and the photos confirm an excellent gloss finish with strong depth across all panels. The body lines are straight and clean. Custom powder-coated Intro aluminium wheels are fitted with wide-profile tyres, and Wilwood brakes with drilled rotors are installed. The chrome side exhaust with perforated heat shield runs the length of the rocker panel, which is a signature visual element on this build. A hi-rise bonnet and pace car-style front spoiler complete the exterior. The TH700R4 automatic was rebuilt in 2022 by Global Automatics with all new high-horsepower components and a remote transmission cooler. Hooker headers with spiral turbo baffles, March serpentine belt system, hardcore aluminium radiator with twin thermo fans, rack and pinion steering, offset rear end with Bilstein shocks all round, and transverse springs replaced with modern composite materials round out the mechanical specification. A B&M Pro Stick auto shifter and aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth and powerful Alpine amplifier finish the interior. Vendor advises this is a trophy-winning vehicle.

A heavily and cohesively built C3 convertible with genuine performance and show credentials. The 1973 convertible's rarity combined with the level of custom work here makes this an interesting lot for the right buyer. Comparable heavily modified C3 Stingray convertibles in Australia have sold in the AUD $45,000 to $70,000 range depending on build quality and presentation. Vendor advises this vehicle is registered in WA until September 2026.
