Description:

Platinum 950, 7.16ct Tanzanite and Diamond Art Deco Inspired Bracelet - Valued at $52,500

A rare and beautifully executed Art Deco inspired bracelet in platinum 950, anchored by a striking 7.16ct square emerald cut tanzanite, independently valued at $52,500.

Platinum and tanzanite is a combination that has no business looking as good as it does, but here it is. The centre stone is a 7.16ct square emerald cut tanzanite in a claw setting, and in a good light that velvety violet-blue colour does things that photographs simply cannot capture. Tanzanite this size with genuine visual presence is not common. The gem comes from one place on earth, the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, which gives it a rarity that coloured stone collectors deeply appreciate.

The design pays tribute to the Art Deco era with geometric precision and restrained elegance. Surrounding the tanzanite are 34 round single cut diamonds (0.45ct TDW, F-G colour, VS-SI clarity) set in a combination of bead, bezel and pip claw work. These are top-colour diamonds, F-G is as white and bright as it gets, chosen specifically to contrast with and enhance the colour of the tanzanite. The fold-over clasp on this 16cm bracelet is well engineered and secure. Platinum 950 means this bracelet will outlast everything.

Independent third-party valuation: $52,500. This is platinum and tanzanite at a price that makes you look twice.
