The Mercedes-Benz W201 190E is the car that defined the modern compact executive sedan. Launched in 1982, it brought Mercedes engineering, build quality, and rear-wheel drive handling to a smaller, more accessible package than the E-Class, and it sold over 1.8 million units through its production run. The 2.6-litre variant, introduced for 1986, pairs the naturally aspirated M103 inline-6 with a more sophisticated drivetrain than the base 2.0 and 2.3 variants, and is increasingly recognised as the sweetest of the W201 range. This right-hand drive example is an Australian-delivered car with the compliance plate confirming build in early 1988.
