1954 Cadillac Limousine - White - 13,706 Miles - 331ci V8, Manual, 8-Seater - Burgundy Velour Interior - Restoration Project
Price Guide: $85,000 - $120,000
A rare 1954 Cadillac eight-passenger limousine in white with a striking burgundy velour interior, presenting well externally and offered as a restoration project with significant work already completed.
Description
The 1954 Cadillac limousine represents the golden era of American formal luxury motoring. That was the year Cadillac refined its new overhead-valve V8 into a thoroughly sorted package, and the extended-wheelbase limousine body brought the full weight of American coachbuilding craft to bear. The formal proportions, the panoramic greenhouse, the sculpted front end with egg-crate chrome grille, and the early hint of tailfin styling at the rear all combine to make this one of the most visually complete expressions of 1950s American prestige. Finding one in white, with 13,706 miles on the odometer, is genuinely uncommon.
Photos across 31 images show the exterior presenting very well. The white paint is uniform and glossy across all panels, with the egg-crate chrome grille, Cadillac V-emblem hood ornament, chrome bumpers front and rear, and the early tailfins with red jewel tail lenses all in excellent condition. Panel gaps are consistent throughout. Whitewall tyres with chrome hubcaps are fitted and correct for the era. The extended limousine roofline carries a white vinyl roof covering. The interior has been re-trimmed in deep burgundy velour throughout the passenger compartment, including the tufted rear bench seat, door panels, carpet, and headliner. The rear cabin presents attractively and the colour scheme contrasts well with the white exterior. The front driver's compartment matches the burgundy theme and features a wood-rim aftermarket steering wheel. An aftermarket Pioneer head unit and a supplementary gauge cluster have been fitted below the dash, along with some associated wiring and cut-out metalwork that represents a visible modification. The engine bay houses the original 331ci V8 with non-original ancillaries including aftermarket electric cooling fans, an aftermarket air cleaner, and a relocated battery in the trunk, consistent with the car's history as a working limousine. The odometer reads 13,706 miles, confirmed in photos, though this figure on a 70-year-old vehicle warrants verification. A windshield sticker confirms the vehicle has been off-road and in storage for a significant period.
The trunk shows surface rust on the lid inner skin and a relocated battery with associated aftermarket wiring. This is honestly a restoration project with a strong visual foundation, excellent external presentation, and a well-finished rear passenger compartment, but with some areas of ongoing or incomplete work. For the collector who wants a dramatic, visually arresting 1950s formal Cadillac with work already started, this is a strong base.
