The 1978 Corvette holds a special place in C3 history. As the 25th Anniversary model year, Chevrolet celebrated by introducing an entirely new rear window design that created the distinctive fastback roofline you see here. Gone was the squared-off Kamm tail of earlier C3s. In its place was a sweeping wraparound rear glass that transformed the Corvette's profile and set the direction for every C3 that followed. More Corvettes were built in 1978 than any other year, but that doesn't diminish what the Silver Anniversary model represented at the time.
This example presents in Corvette Red with matching red interior and is fitted with the removable T-top glass panels that made the C3 Corvette such a desirable open-air machine without going full convertible. The red paint retains good gloss across all panels with swirl marks consistent with its age. The fibreglass body lines are straight and present well. The front nose has a paint chip visible in the photos that will need attention. The chrome alloy wheels wear BFGoodrich Radial T/A white letter tyres. Side exhaust pipes exit behind the front wheels.
