L. Kaseder (Luka) was a Bavarian folk painter based in Gumpersdorf near Tann in Lower Bavaria, working in the tradition of German Alpine landscape art. This small oil on canvas depicts a classic Tyrolean mountain scene: a stone wayside shrine (Marterl) set along a rocky mountain path, framed by birch trees blazing in autumn gold and dark conifers, with jagged Alpine peaks filling the background. The artist handled the impasto foliage and sky with confident brushwork, giving the composition a vivid seasonal character typical of Central European folk painting. The verso label and handwritten date confirm this as an original work by the artist, produced in July 1976.<br>
