Item Description


A striking natural mineral specimen featuring lustrous sphalerite crystals in shades of reddish-brown and tan, densely clustered across a pale cream and tan aragonite matrix base. The specimen exhibits the characteristic resinous to adamantine lustre typical of high-quality sphalerite, with well-defined geometric crystal faces displaying excellent transparency and translucency in places.




Specimen Characteristics


The sphalerite crystals are predominantly tetrahedral and cubic in form, ranging from approximately 5mm to 15mm in diameter, with sharp, well-developed terminations. The crystals display a rich colour palette from honey-brown to deep reddish-brown, with some specimens showing lighter tan coloration. The matrix consists of aragonite with secondary mineralisation, providing excellent contrast and structural support for the primary mineral display.

Excellent condition. No significant damage, breakage, or repair evident. All crystal faces intact and lustrous. The specimen is stable and suitable for display or collection purposes.
