The HSV Maloo 297 is the top-shelf version of Australia's most iconic performance ute, taking the naturally aspirated 5.7-litre LS1 V8 and mating it to the factory six-speed manual transmission for genuine rear-wheel-drive performance with the added practicality of a full-sized tub. Finished in deep black over a stunning red leather interior, this example carries the 297 tailgate badge and HSV specification throughout, confirmed by the original HSV tyre placard and full Monaro/HSV documentation set. With 136,972 kilometres recorded it represents low-to-mid mileage for its age, and presents in excellent condition consistent with careful ownership.
The VZ generation, produced from 2004 to 2006, represents the final development of the Gen III LS1-powered Commodore platform and is now widely regarded as the last of the classic Australian performance utes.
