About This Monaro
The Monaro CV8-Z was the ultimate evolution of the Holden Monaro, combining the naturally aspirated LS1 5.7-litre V8 with a purpose-built sports coupe body and a feature list that positioned it at the very top of the Australian performance market. The CV8-Z variant added the distinctive CV8-Z badged alloy wheels, specific interior trim, and the performance-tuned FE2 suspension that set it apart from lesser Monaro variants. Built in December 2005 and sold new through Shack Holden in Fremantle, Western Australia, this example has covered just 1,825 kilometres in its entire life. Its only recorded service was completed at 1,473 kilometres in November 2007. Since then, it has been stored, preserved, and maintained in as-new condition.
The exterior presents in Bright Blue metallic (paint code 181L), a factory production colour that suits the aggressive CV8-Z body lines with outstanding effect. The paint has never been cut, compounded, or resprayed, and presents with factory-fresh depth and gloss across every panel. No stone chips, swirl marks, or clear coat issues are visible anywhere on the vehicle. Panel gaps are factory-original and precise. All badging, trim, and seals are present and unmarked. The factory CV8-Z script alloy wheels are fitted with the original Bridgestone Potenza tyres, showing sidewall ageing consistent with age but negligible wear from use.
The engine bay is a standout feature. The LS1 5.7-litre V8 is presented in a colour-coded Bright Blue engine bay, with the valve covers, strut towers, and inner guard panels painted to match the exterior. An aftermarket cold air intake from SS Performance has been fitted by a previous owner. The engine itself shows no miles worth mentioning. Fluid levels and presentation are consistent with a car that has covered under 2,000 kilometres.
The interior is museum quality. Black leather throughout, with no bolster wear, no dashboard cracks, no carpet wear, and no marks on any trim surface. The CV8-Z and SRS airbag badge on the passenger dash is perfect chrome. The signature two-gauge instrument pod on the dash top is unmarked. The Blaupunkt 6-disc CD head unit and climate control are original and operational. The electric memory seat adjustment is present. The instrument cluster displays in its factory blue illumination with the Monaro script. Two original Holden key fobs are present. The service logbook, VZ Monaro owners handbook, audio system handbook, and Holden Roadside Assistance wallet are all included.
