About This Car
The VE Commodore Ute is one of the most celebrated chapters in Australian motoring. Built in Australia from 2006 to 2013, the single-cab Holden performance ute combined genuine V8 muscle with real-world utility, and the SSV Redline sat at the top of the tree. This 2012 example started life with the L77 6.0-litre V8 and 6-speed manual as its foundation, and vendor advises it has since received a significant and professionally engineered performance upgrade.
Vendor advises the L77 has been fitted with a CAPA centrifugal supercharger, with the modification certified by an engineer in September 2023 (Modification Plate fitted, Certification No. 1M0679, Accreditation No. 2865). Supporting that build are a ceramic clutch, heavy-duty transmission, and a modified split tail-shaft, all intended to handle the increased power through to the rear wheels. The combination makes for a purposeful and capable performance ute that should satisfy enthusiasts looking for something with a bit more bite than a standard V8.
Externally the car presents solidly for its age and 191,589-kilometre history. The silver metallic paint holds good gloss across the panels, body lines are straight and panel gaps are even throughout. The polished 19-inch SSV Redline alloy wheels remain in very good condition and the Brembo red brake calipers behind them are a welcome touch for a car that has been built with performance in mind.
